The 2017 Holiday Swim Festival hosted by Swim Neptune kicks off Thursday, Nov. 30, and features a slew of top swimmers from the West Coast.

Check out the top five swimmers to watch below — including a pair of swift 10-year-olds who are knocking on the door of National Age Group records.

1.) Jarod Arroyo (Pitchfork Aquatics)

As discussed an another preview article, Pitchfork Aquatics' Jarod Arroyo is the real deal. The Arizona State commit is one of the most versatile recruits in the class of 2019 (he committed as a junior). Arroyo is a 3:54 400 IMer who can swim a sub-1:40 200 free, sub-1:50 200 back and 200 fly, and nearly sub-2:00 200 breast. Not too shabby, not too shabby at all. He also represented Puerto Rico at the 2016 FINA SC World Championships in Windsor, Canada, and the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships in Indianapolis.

2.) Gianni Pitto (California Gold)

The Liberty University commit is a legit breaststroker with best times of 1:02.14 and 2:14.46 in the 100 and 200, respectively. She is the top seed this weekend by over a second in the 100 and nearly six seconds in the 100. Depending on where she is in her training, we could potentially see Pitto get down closer the 1:00 and 2:10 barriers — more than respectable times for any swimmer at any level.

3.) Thomaz Martins & Juanjo Garcia (ASU Postgrads)

Scrolling through the psych sheet a couple of Arizona State postgrads popped up — most notably, Thomaz Martins and Juan Garcia Mesa — aka Juanjo Garcia. During his time at ASU, Martins was a solid swimmer just on the cusp of qualifying for NCAAs. The Brazilian native has best short course yards times of 1:48.0 in the 200 IM, 43.5 in the 100 free, and 1:35.3 in the 200 free. Garcia, a Spanish native, has best times of 54.19 and 1:57.04 in the 100 and 200 breast, respectively.

4.) Jordan Falls (Swim Neptune)

Ten-year-old Jordan Falls of host club Swim Neptune is dominant. He is the top seed in almost all of his events — by a significant margin. He is the top seed in the 500 free (5:22.44) by 31 seconds, the 200 free (2:00.51) by 15 seconds, the 50 free (27.14) by 1 1/2 seconds, the 100 back (1:05.63) by nearly eight seconds, the 100 fly (1:03.71) by nearly six seconds, the 100 IM (1:07.52) by two seconds, the 50 fly (29.56) by 1 1/2 seconds, the 200 IM (2:22.67) by five seconds, and the 100 free (57.00) by five seconds. We typically don't like to project young talent — especially at 10 years old — but Jordan Falls is a name to keep an eye on in the future.

5.) Jada Duncan (Rocklin Mavericks)

When looking at the 2017 Holiday Swim Fest, Jada Duncan is the counterpart to Jordan Falls. The 10-year-old from Rocklin Mavericks is the top seed in the 500 free (5:31.64) by 11 seconds, the 200 free (2:04.48) by four seconds, the 50 free (25.94) by nearly two seconds, the 100 fly (1:02.50) by six seconds, the 100 IM (1:07.59) by nearly two seconds, the 50 fly (28.28) by two seconds, the 200 IM (2:21.39), and the 100 free (56.63). At the rate most 10-year-olds typically improve, Duncan isn't too far off some NAG records...
