Need a new dryland exercise that is actually applicable to swimming? Look no further. Santo Condorelli and USC Swimming have you covered.
In the video above, Condorelli is doing an exercise working on core strength and acceleration past your hip on the catch in freestyle. All you need is a weighted med ball small enough to fit in the palm of your hand -- in this instance, it is one used primarily for water polo.
Then, in the bird dog plank position, do 3x10 throws on each side. Test it out and let us know what you think.
