Arizona State 800 Breaststroke Relay

Arizona State 800 Breaststroke Relay

FloSwimming took a trip out west to visit Bob Bowman and the Arizona State Sun Devils. During one of their afternoon workouts, Bowman had his guys suit up for a rehearsal of night 1 of the Pac-12 Championships, which consists of the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Freestyle Relay, to shake off the racing cobwebs from holiday training.

Then came the plot twist. Afterwards, Bowman had his breaststrokers step up for an 800 Breaststroke Relay (yes, you read that correctly) - with a challenge to break the 8-minute barrier. They came dangerously close with a final time of 8:02.8. Check out Thibaut Capitaine throw down a swift 1:58.5 on the anchor leg. Not too shabby at the end of their second workout of the day.

Full Splits from the Relay:

Christian Lorenz: 2:00.7
Juanjo Garcia: 2:00.8
Daniel Comforti: 2:02.6
Thibaut Capitaine: 1:58.5
Final Time: 8:02.8

Stay tuned tomorrow for the full-length Workout Wednesday featuring the Arizona State Sun Devils!
