Brooke Zettel: 1:58 In The 200 IM At 14 Years Old
Brooke Zettel is one of the best up and coming swimmers in the entire sport...and she's just 14-years-old.
By Kyle Sockwell
Recently more than ever, age has become just a number in the sport of swimming. Just over the past couple of weeks, we've seen Claire Tuggle make National Age Group records look easy and Gretchen Walsh tear up the 50- and 100-yard freestyles.
Having already jumped into the headlines, Brooke Zettel is looking to grab the attention once again this week at ISCA Junior National Championship Cup in Lynchburg, Virginia, which gets underway Tuesday and continues to Saturday.

If you don't already know what Zettel is all about, we'll give you a few seconds to associate yourself with some of her entry times...
Zettel's Entries:
- 200 IM - 1:58.31
- 400 IM - 4:12.39
- 200 Breast - 2:12.38
Other notable times from Zettel:
- 200 Back - 1:57.60
- 1000 Free - 10:01.65
- 100 Back - 54.40
Her 4:12.39 in the 400 IM and her 1:58.31 in the 200 IM would have been good enough to rank 67th and 83rd in the NCAA, respectively. That might seem like a pretty low ranking to the common folk, but keep in mind Zettel will have a chance to improve those times this weekend.
Zettel currently sits in the No. 3 spot for recruits in the class of 2021 but has set herself up nicely to climb in the rankings after a couple more big-time swims. Be sure to tune in LIVE this week to watch Zettel and talented field of 18-and-under swimmers compete at one of the fastest meets of the year so far.
